Thank you all very much for your continuing contributions. They are helping to save lives in Gaza and elsewhere. Unfortunately, the Jordanian access that we and our partner, Son of Man, have been using was finally cut off by the Israeli government. There is now no shipment of anything to Gaza. We and all other relief organizations are either stockpiling supplies outside Gaza awaiting approval to enter, of which there is currently little hope, or some groups are sending the money itself to teams in Gaza that are buying whatever they can on the open market, from the dwindling supplies in Gaza.
This is driving the prices through the stratosphere, and not increasing supplies at all. In effect, those with money are taking the food out of the mouths of those with less or no money. We refuse to be a part of this terrible calculus. Please be assured that at the first opportunity to take aid into Gaza, we will do so, but in the meantime we will concentrate our aid on other needy communities in Palestine that we can actually help.
